I am officially making it as official as it needs to be, I am giving up chocolate for lent.
For those of you that know me well, you will know the amounts of chocolate I can munch my way through in the average day, but since Christmas I do not seem to be working at an average level, I seem to dramatically increased the amount I am consuming. So when a client very generously challenged me, and you know I cant walk away from a challenge, I dug deep and accepted on the conclusion that it was a win-win situation. Conclusion a) I manage to last 40 days without chocolate and not onlyimprove my poor current eating habits but also my bank balance – the only losers are Tesco as I will not be making my frequent visits for supplies. Or conculsion b) Is that I fail but having pledged £50 to the NSPCC, they win hands down.
So can I do it? Can I last 40 whole days without one once of chocolate, one single bar, nothing at all? I was also told that this continues to all food that contains chocolate including muffins, cake etc. This is where I know I will not fail as unfortunately my addiction is only of the bar variety. I am currently addicted to peanut butter kit kat chunky’s which I have voted for and will continue to stock up on until Easter Sunday where I will be incredibly busy all day, rectifying the situation of the past 40 days and tucking into a very large egg promised to me if I achieve this.
So if you do see me, please refrain from all chocolate munching in my present as I really want to achieve this. I have every faith in my success but do not want to be unneccessarily tempted. Here comes the dreaded start, February 22nd lasting all the way until the 9th of April. Wish me luck.
